MOTQ: Kris DelValle

Q: When did you first hear about CrossFit and how did you get started?

 

I first heard about Bell City from one of our coaches about 3 years ago.  She had been trying to get me to come in and give it a try for quite a while until I finally decided to give it a shot and I was immediately hooked.  Fell in love with CrossFit on the first visit.  Hands down the best decision I have ever made.

 

Q: Why did you stick with it?

 

I stuck with it because of the constant challenge I get every single time I am there and the results that I see myself getting which makes me want to keep going.

 

Q: What do you enjoy most about Bell City CrossFit?

 

I honestly enjoy the people the most.  Don't get me wrong, the workouts are great but having the support and family feeling while you are there is so motivating.  I have met so many great people and made so many new friendships which I think makes Bell City stand out.

 

Q: Most and least favorite lift?

 

My favorite lift has to be the cleans.  I am getting comfortable and more confident with them.  I find them to challenge me the most and I get the most out of them.  My least however, is a love/late relationship with snatches.  I am slowly getting better at them but I just can't seem to like them all that much. 

Q. What do you train for?

 

I train for myself.  I train to keep my body healthy, muscles strong to support my bones, and to keep myself strong.

 

Q: What is your greatest CrossFit success story?

 

I have to say the Opens were my most memorable accomplishment.  Never in my wildest dreams did I think I could do a wall walk (not to mention a bunch of them), get my first toes to bar, or do as well as I ended up doing.  Not to mention it was so much fun!  Cannot wait for next year!

 

Q: What do you do for work?

 

I am a custodian at a high school so I manage to stay pretty busy during my day.

Q: What do you do for fun with you’re not at the gym?

 

What do I do for fun?  I really enjoy going on hikes when the weather is nice, getting together with friends (which I haven't done much with Covid).  I love summer, so going to the beach whenever I can is a definite.

 

Q: What advice would you give to someone interested in CrossFit, but not sure it’s the right fit for them?

My best advice for someone is just to give it a shot,  what do you have to lose?  You will never know unless you try.  I know that was my story and I took the leap and I can't be happier with my decision.

Q: Favorite breakfast meal?

My favorite breakfast meal is an avocado toast with an egg on top with a little hot sauce.  It is the bomb!!!
