The air squat is one of the first fundamental movements we learn as CrossFitters (and as humans!) and is the foundation of multiple other movements we utilize in our program.
A squat is simply a sit-to-stand, something we'll need to do throughout our life; training and maintaining that ability is truly functional and beneficial. Executed safely with proper form and appropriate load has a multitude of health benefits and should not be avoided.
In addition to building joint and muscular strength, increasing bone density and improving mobility, overcoming and building the weight on the barbell builds confidence and character.
