A Better Warm Up

Every group class at Bell City CrossFit includes a movement specific warm-up. Typically, our Members have just rolled out of bed or have been sitting behind a desk or steering wheel for the majority of their day. The intentions of our warm-ups are to increase body temperature and reinforce proper lifting mechanics while stretching and preparing for the main lifts and conditioning forthcoming.
For example, yesterday's group class involved Front Squats, followed by a workout consisting of running, dumbbell box step ups, and dumbbell snatches. The warm-up included unweighted lateral box step ups, light dumbbell muscle snatches and rowing/biking while stretching the hips, ankles and wrists in preparation for the work to come.
Our programming follows a progressive cycle. Each class includes an effective, intentional warm up. Everything we do has a purpose and our main objective is keeping our Members safe while making them strong, helping them move better and improve their cardiovascular fitness.
The best part? As a Member, you don’t have to think about any of this. You show up and do the work. We take care of the rest. In life, there are all too many things to think about. Your workout doesn’t have to be one of them.
