It's Time to Push Yourself Out of Your Comfort Zone

As Affiliate Owners and Coaches, we often hear the stories of dread that people have of their first experience walking into a CrossFit Box. We smile because we've heard all the misconceptions that people have about what CrossFit is, how it works and how fit you need to be just to start!

Let us be the first to assure you that CrossFit is NOT all about what you see on TV; the Games Athletes. We have nothing against these incredible athletes (we're glued to the computer screen every Games season to watch in awe of their accomplishments!), but when people compare themselves to what they see on TV it's like comparing themselves to an NFL, MLB or NBA player. These are the 1%, the best-of-the-best, elite athletes.

The CrossFit prescription helped mold these Athletes into what they are, but their application of it is on a much different scale. One of the great things about CrossFit is it's ability to be infinitely modified and scaled to accommodate almost any fitness level. You don't have to "be fit" to start. In fact, those that aren't as fit will see the fastest gains in their fitness when they DO start!

The below article lists a few helpful (and humorous) tips if you're considering trying out one of our FREE intro classes (every Sunday at 9:00am).

As written from the perspective of a new CrossFitter, someone not "fit" in her own mind and nervous about what she couldn't do. She writes:

"I was nervous because in my own mind, I had decided I wasn’t fit, that the coaches would think I was too weak and give up on me, and that it was going to be a waste of my time and money. Let me tell you right now, I was so wrong!"

All of our Coaches are CrossFit trained and most of them are formally trained in other forms of strength, conditioning and nutrition methods with over 20 years combined experience. All of our group class workouts are programmed by our Head Coach MeLo, a licensed Physical Therapist. They all started CrossFit at various levels of fitness and they're eager to help shape your journey!

"NO ONE can do any of those things when they first start! So, don’t let yourself get discouraged! CrossFit coaches are some of the most encouraging people you will ever meet."

Our biggest fears come from the unknown. One of the ways we try to eliminate the unknown is by posting on our social platforms the workouts that our Members are doing on a weekly basis. Follow us and you'll see that our Members range in all demographic categories, but they do have one thing in common - they all took that first step to improve their fitness and haven't looked back!

"So, beginners don’t walk away because you think you can’t do it or its too intimidating. Your mind is your biggest enemy when it comes to getting into the box. Take that first step and make the call or write the email and get your butt to the gym!"
