Q: When did you first hear about CrossFit and how did you get started?


I started in 2013 when my brother-in-law began CrossFitting at Bell City, and then proceeded to pay for 3 months for me. Haven't looked back since. I guess I enjoy the pain, hahaha!


Q: Why did you stick with it?


It works for me!


Q: What do you enjoy most about Bell City CrossFit?


It's fun.  The coaches and fellow members (friends) make you push when you don't want to! Positive atmosphere all the time. 


Q: Most and least favorite lift?


Favorites include Overhead Squats, Double Unders, and Handstand Push-Ups (editor’s note: Wes completed 17 (!!) strict HSPUs in Open WOD 19.3, giving him a 4th place finish in the event at BCCF).

LEAST favorites include Thrusters & Burpees (second editor’s note: Wes has been known to be conveniently busy when Thrusters & Burpees are programmed in group class).

Q. What do you train for?


I train to maintain my health and to try to keep up with the young bucks

Q: What is your greatest CrossFit success story?


Workout 16.3 in the 2016 Opens.  I couldn't do a single bar muscle up leading up to this workout, but ended up getting 12!  I was pretty pumped about that. Takes a lot for me to show any emotion but I was excited for that in the CrossFit world.


Q: What do you do for work?


I am a commercial painter / wallpaper hanger (hotels, hospitals, ESPN, etc.) at Roberge Painting.  I've been there for 22, going on 23 years in August. 


Q: What do you do for fun with you’re not at the gym?


Mountain biking, fishing, Spartan races, sometimes hiking.

Q: What advice would you give to someone interested in CrossFit, but not sure it’s the right fit for them?


It couldn’t hurt to try.  Everything can be modified based on your abilities and strengths.


Q: Favorite breakfast meal?


Western Omelet, home-fries and bacon.

We are excited to announce that we are expanding our class offerings effective Monday, July 20th.  We will now offer Group Classes every weekday, Monday through Friday.  

The new class schedule will go into effect Monday, July 20th.  You must continue to reserve all classes via the ZenPlanner Member app.  Please be courteous to your fellow members and only reserve classes that you are going to attend. Class sizes are limited, so let's ensure that everyone has an opportunity to join the fun!
